NFTs (Non-fungible tokens) and Blockchain for digital asset management in CCIs
The conference will explain what NFTs are and the technology behind them, based on digital tokens similar to certificates of ownership for virtual or physical assets. Artists can thus retain the copyright for their work so that they can continue to produce and sell copies.
Protecting the security of interlinked and encrypted records, as well as the actual infrastructures, are technologies that apply to all sectors, and especially to those where huge amounts of money are at stake, such as the Cultural and Creative Industry. We highlight NFTs (Non-fungible tokens), digital assets based on blockchain technology to guarantee their exclusivity and authorship. The use of blockchain is becoming increasingly widespread in the art world, although it goes far beyond.
This digital technology enables creators to programme their intellectual property rights, income, smart contracts, solve data issues, enable the reuse of creative content while safeguarding intellectual property.
The talk will be given by Iván Gutiérrez, Blockchain and cybersecurity researcher at Tecnalia.
Ivan is a Cryptography and Cybersecurity enthusiast. Originally a computer engineer, his participation in cybersecurity research projects has enabled him to transfer his experience to DLT (Distributed Ledger Technology) for the team that coordinates the Blockchain Innovation Center at Tecnalia. He has developed his technical capabilities in collaboration with the two main global blockchain alliances (Hyperledger and Enterprise Ethereum Alliance) and the national network of the distributed digital economy (Alastria). To disseminate the technology, Ivan regularly contributes to specialist presentations, teaching and research articles.
